Framingham Water Department to Begin Water Flushing

The city will begin water flushing in residential, business, and commercial areas on October 10th. The process is expected to last 6 weeks.

FRAMINGHAM - Starting Tuesday, October 10th the city’s water department will begin conducting water flushing in designated areas.

This is expected to last 6 weeks, and could cause discoloration in water, and a reduction in water pressure. The discoloration is temporary and not harmful, however if the condition lasts longer than 24 hours, you are advised to contact Framingham's Water Department at (508)-532-6050.

Water main flushing is scheduled from 8am to 3pm in residential areas, and 10pm to 5am in business and commercial areas. Its purpose is to improve the quality of drinking water.

Flushing is set to begin in Zone A1 and progress throughout the city. You can find a map of Framingham’s flushing program zones here.
