WATCH: Troop 12's First Girls' Troop

Framingham's Troop 12 announced last week they would be establishing their first girls' troop.

Scouting America—formerly known as the Boy Scouts of America—began welcoming girls back in 2018.

For years, Framingham’s Troop 12 didn’t have enough scouts to create their own girls troop—until now. Both girls and boys troops will be operating alongside each other under the Troop 12 umbrella.

The group recently held their pancake breakfast to raise money for the troop, so they can carry out service projects and activities. We spoke with Scoutmaster Blake Crowell about the importance of this milestone for both boys and girls—including his daughter Abbie, the first girl to crossover into the scouts proper.
