Temporary set-up for new ramp site a few miles west of Framingham is being set up this weekend, as state officials continue to aim for a June 2027 completion date.
FRAMINGHAM - The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has announced updates regarding its improvement project to the interchange of I-495 and I-90, just a few miles west of Framingham.
On Friday, November 15, MassDOT crews will be moving I-495’s on-ramp heading south branching from I-90 eastbound about a half mile west. A temporary set-up will be created for the permanent ramp at Exit 106, as crews continue work on the project. Signage will be placed to alert drivers of the new exit ramp.
The major interchange has been primed for an improvement since the fall of 2022, with the project design phase currently in its final stages. MassDOT anticipates that the project will be done in time for June of 2027.
The state aims to reduce congestion, collisions, and overall travel time for both commuters and truckers on the two major highways.
